Lightning isn't drawn to metal -- metal only conducts lightning if striking that spot. Sorry to rain on your cute cartoon with physics.

Most umbrellas have a metal tip, which lead some to unnecessarily fear a lightning strike.

It didn't have to be because he had metal on him lighting struck many people without an umbrella or metal items on them

The only context in this post is the rain, it could have been a coincidence that he got struck after the umbrella
