I think I've traced the game of telephone here. The US allows certified non-profits to fund this illegal occupation which in tern is often reported with titles like "US Residents are Funding Settlements." Later references then flattened this to "settlements funded by US cash" which isn't technically wrong but I can see how somebody writing a meme might interpret that as the US government as opposed to being collections by various Jewish federations and other "charitable" organizations in the US.

I'd like to see a source for this. Israel gets more leeway than any actual US state and I'm more than open for criticism. This I haven't seen though. If there is a legitimate source, great. If not, let's please stick to factual critique.

Let's be honest, this is what antisemitism looks like. Putting Israeli "settlers" on a pedestal while depriving your own people will generate an uptick in anti-Israeli and anti-Jewish sentiments. That uptick will lead to an increase in hate speech and hate crimes against Jews in general and Israelis in specific. That in turn can, and likely will, be used, even weaponized, to strike against your own people, including moderate Jews, and justify funding Israel more to drive the hate spiral higher.

So by this logic of transitive funding (i.e. 'if the US funds Iron dome, and Israel spends money it could otherwise have spent on that on healthcare, the US is funding healthcare') does that not mean that everyone who provided aid in Hamas controlled Gaza was funding Hamas terrorism, since if they hadn't been given billions of dollars a year in aid, they wouldn't have had as much spare money for weapons and terrorist training camps?
