Edit: I bypassed the battery in the bios. It's no longer growing. Framework is shipping me a replacement ASAP. I ordered another one anyway. My ifixit kit comes in tomorrow. I'll post a proof of life photo if you're all that worried. I'm more scared of the Cascadia Fault Line.

Just so everyone knows. I don't have anything nice here save for the laptop with the battery that was growing. Tools are coming tomorrow and yes, I know all about lithium fires. Easiest way to dispose of it would be to take it to the mine and put it to use.

Ohhh spicy battery pillow! Get that the hell out of your place and not near ANYTHING flammable, Lithium Ion batteries can pop and burn your fucking house down. Worked for an energy company and hoo boy did I see some crazy OSHA reports about large batteries. But the laptop ones are the same fire hazard, especially once this starts happening.

Dispose of that properly, IMMEDIATELY. Do NOT keep using it and whatever you do do not try to charge it. If you NEED the phone have a professional replace the battery. Lithium fires are no joke

Also pay attention to chargeable devices that no longer hold charge. Yes, batteries can have a lifespan that depends on how you use it, but we found a bulging battery in an old wireless speaker that *didn't show externally* because there was space in the case. We wouldn't have known if it wasn't opened up.
