I love this movie. As much as I love The Magnificent Seven and its remakes, they miss the point. The samurai who died were all shot. No swordsman could touch them. That message doesn't translate in the westerns.

If you dig Seven Samurai, I highly recommend "The Sword of Doom" and "Samurai Assassin".

Along those lines, "Hari Kari" is also quite good, but I highly recommend watching the 1962 original before you watch the 2011 remake. Teh remake is good and well one, but they changed how the story is told and I think the original works better in that regard. Both are great though.

I love "Hari Kari" too! Totally forgot about it. I also have to circle back to "Throne of Blood". That may be my favorite Kurosawa film. It's so hard to choose one though.
