Stock losses are deductible and you can still take the standard deduction.

Doesn't matter. Plenty of people invest money to hedge against inflation but incur losses during bear years. My post is helpful, yours isn’t
saying that people should focus on learning it on their own, or with help, before putting money in is helpful advice for some people though
