Don't let your dog dig ffs

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

The dog is digging to get to cool sand and in this instance, shade. There's nothing wrong with that.

it is when they dig massive holes in soccer fields and play grounds.

Be careful... it could be dangerous for the dog... it could collapse over him...

Plus she has a degree in structure engineering so she knows what's she's doing

If you look at the roof of the cave it doesn't actually go in far, I tend to remove her and stamp on the overhang until it collapses, dw! :)

Check local beach law, in florida I know you can be charged with destroying dunes which help protect the beach and land past them

Do you get a really satisfying feeling when it falls? Like your giant or an adventurer on a perilous cliff?

9 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Haha, yes except the odd time where you misjudge it and land on your arse. Adventuring is dangerous

I'd like to hire her! What's her hourly rate?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you train her? if so any good dog training tips? or make a post!

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

No, not really. She's a rescue so she came with all her weird shenanigans already, she loves digging, doesn't understand fetch and 1/2

Hats other dogs. Treats for doing as she's told are as far as I've gotten. But it's a pretty solid system :)

Sometimes, to get to colder dirt as they want to cool down. Sometimes to relive stress. Sometimes just for the heck of it.

My new rescue has been digging IN JUST ONE PLACE in the yard...scared of what we may find..

Probably to build a den in this case. Though also sometimes they hear moles and such.
