I could definitely not handle home ownership. But it's absurd seeing my rent go another $200 up when they aren't even doing a good job.

Yeah but if you are paying 3k or 5k those are likely one time expenses against 10k in rental income annually. Never met a poor landlord

House I was renting a few years back needed a new roof. The cost was equal to almost 2 years gross rent. Not poor, but not Bezos either.

I understand roofs can be expensive. Fortunately, they don't have to be replaced every 2 years.

Has a point, and while I can do some things on my house, doing electrical and plumbing could wreck it or resale value so I hire a pro.

Not at all. However repairs have to be done by professionals and to code when you have renters. No chance for insurance otherwise and legal
