"Spended" typed the guy accusing someone of having a useless talent, while he himself barely being able to speak.

I'd love to see what that original commenter can do aside from snarking on a guy that's got some serious skills.

But does anyone know why devil sticks got so popular in the 90s? What the fuck was that

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

We watched a lot of Bob Ross without true understanding, so we got sticks to beat the devil out of stuff, hence the name.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thats right around when we, the oldest millennials, started realizing how much we wanted to beat the shit out of everything.

my dad bought me some at a flea market. anyways, i still suck at it.

If you have two daughters you can't have a house with one bathroom. There's just no way.

Good for this fellow. Even if it wasn't marketable, it's more than worth it. I'm really tired of hearing how marketable everyone's interests are. I'm tired of productivity and achievement culture. This is why I left Fine Art and write for larp: the least profitable creative outlet there could ever be.

Yeah, live in poverty. That’ll show em!

Put that slogan on a cover letter and watch no one read it

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well, his whole point was that whatever it was he's doing was in fact marketable - it bought his house with two places to urinate, college educations for two daughters, the opportunity to perform around the world, and enabled him to play with tennis rackets instead of grinding away at a job in an insurance company. Still, there's nothing wrong with writing for larp or working a regular job.

Damn

The overarching drive in America and a lot of other places to judge all skills by their "marketability" is legit one of the saddest and most destructive societal zeitgeist that exists. Humans were MADE to make art. We've been doing it since before we had written word or agrarian societies. Denying it is denying the closest thing we have to a real soul.

Well, unfortunately, sociopaths run the world. Seems the most ruthless men end up in positions of power. This is just one reason why I struggle believing there is a benevolent God

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A system for the cruel, by the cruel. It's almost impossible to be remotely ethical and have anywhere near the resources to be in control of anything because we exist in a world of artificial scarcity, while having well beyond the technology necessary to feed, house, clothe, and educate every single human on the planet./

Exactly. The "grind culture" is a societal cancer.
