Huh. Apparently I missed the Ryan Gosling/Ghost Rider news

1 day ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean, yes, but it was also only announced like yesterday so not far behind

#36 Ron Pearlman from the 80s Beauty and the Beast really is a deep cut.

#2 So how do you feel about the announcement of Ryan Gosling as Ghost Rider in 2028 from the director of Deadpool and Wolverine?

There are so many things that feel wrong about this.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#13 that's an interesting scheduling conflict that is certainly going to cost someone their job.

2 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Disney is mad furious about not getting an IMAX slot, along with WB not budging for Dune. So they made up "InfinityVision".

Sabertooth's got some moves

2 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The fact you can see Sabertooth walking casually in the background as he gets into position is hilarious to me.

Honestly Doomsday to me looks like a mess. A ton of heroes in an event with no setup.

It's weird to see her on Imgur all of a sudden, to me she's one of the Glass Cannon TTRPG players. Kind of forgot she was an instagram cosplay person also.

#8 100% chance that's Alternate Universe Evil Steve and Alternate Universe Evil Thor passing around Alternate Universe Evil Mjölnir

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've seen this theory, and my question is why? What makes people think so?

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nothing definitive, but a lot of stuff hints toward it. We know this is a multiverse crossover, so it's more likely to be an AU Steve than a timetravel Steve. Rumours of Captain Hydra have circulated wildly for months. Prime universe Mjölnir is restored but still shows fracture marks, this Mjölnir is undamaged, so likely AU too. Thor hates having his hair cut, this Thor is short-haired, so probably AU as well. They meet in darkness, which is the kind of ham-fisted symbolism the MCU likes to use.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, I can't say that it's wrong, but I am reminded how often fan theories about the MCU have been completely off

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#10 I am not too enthusiastic about the Green Lantern series. So far, most of Gunn's stuff has felt kind of similar and it feels like he can't write a story unless it is about a group/team in some way; as if everything is Guardians of the Galaxy with a different skin.

2 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

What's the context of that post?

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah, I have mostly enjoyed the DC movies that were made under him, but they do all feel kinda same-y. They all feel like Guardians of the Galaxy but with characters I find less annoying, which has been pretty fun so far, but will probably get very old very quickly.

2 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I enjoyed Creature Commandos and the Peacemaker series, although Frank Grillo's character seemed to shift personality from one to the next, but otherwise, I'm not super enthusiastic about Gunn.
He's a decent director, but also kind of one-note, like M. Night and his twists

2 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This being made by Damon Lindelof makes me slightly hopeful.

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gunn isn't the one making it directly, and his Superman didn't feel like guardians IMO (suicide squad, peacemaker and creature commandos definitely do though)

#42 I believe that's known as an Ash Williams

2 days ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

This comment deeply confused my inner Mass Effect fan

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's Ashley Williams too, isn't she? I never made that connection before

Heh. Spot on.

2 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Groovy.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ash projects a slapstick field at all times. When Ash is around, you get Army of Darkness deadites. When he's not around, you get Evil Dead Burn deadites.

2 days ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

That’s the thing though, it’s like Barry Allen hauling ass and slowing time down. Bruce’s awesomeness makes those Deadites (good Lordy Jesus, just the dishwasher kill from the preview!) look like Larry Moe and Curly. I loooved Ash v Evil Dead, and it really sort of blended the two Bruce’s, yaknow?

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Accepted as canon.

2 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That...honestly makes a lot of sense considering the three movies where he wasn't involved were so much more dark and brutal.

2 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Could be accurate, they mess with people's heads and the first encounter, since he survived it, broke him into hysterics and sarcasm as a trauma response - the laughing cabin being an example of the former, army of darkness being the latter after his patience snapped as well.

So future attacks might unknowingly leech that from his mind during events he's involved in. Ash can't take them seriously so they manifest in "dark comedy" mode instead of full on horror show entities.

#36 I don't remember an X-Man called Pants?

2 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

What color are those Jeans?

2 days ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Is it just me, or do the memes about the umpteenth Avengers movie feel a little astroturfed? I'm sure there are some hardcore Marvel fans who can still get excited for yet another Avengers flick even though the franchise is about to jump the "Somehow, Palpatine returned" shark (likely twice in one film), but usually the memes start after a movie hits the cinemas. This just feels like advertising.

2 days ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 5

*Fifth. It's not that big a number

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm not a huge fan but I still want to watch it, and avoid trailers. Pretty cool that peeps just post trailer shit while I'm swiping :)

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I partially agree. I would've liked to NOT know Ghost Rider was in the film until I'm actually in the theater. Now I'm going to see Ryan Gosling and instead of going 'Which pretty-boy hero is he going to be' I'm going to see him and go 'Great, now I have to spend half the movie watching him be on fire.'

2 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I don't think Ghost Rider is in the film.
The Gosling announcement was for a solo film

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or some people are genuinely excited and are sick of anyone showing any joy online getting ragged on

2 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

They are def astroturfed. A lot of memes these days for tv and movies are. Just another marketing tactic.

2 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Try to make a meme dump and get accused of being a shill and/or bot
