I make weird sculptures...

This one is ceramic and took just over 12 hours to create. Inspired by the Socrates quote, "the unexamined life is not worth living."

Below is 4 minutes of time lapse video showing the process...

Building the hollow body using coils of clay. Adding hip, leg, and feet forms. I also started adding textures while the clay body dries a bit so it's strong enough to build taller.

Continuing textures, adding shoulders, arms, paws, building taller, and more textures.

Adding the skull, face details, and finishing textures. I add the light underglaze for color of highlighted areas.

Continuing highlighted underglaze and details. (Bisque Firing not show). Adding black underglaze for shadows and contrast, and sponge away to reveal highlights. (Final firing not shown).
