She was born in Israel. so was her sister. her father saw the future for his girls and moved them to new jersey. I simply asked her if the defense of israel was paramount, why was she a draft dodger? To quote Clausewitz, "war is merely the continuation of policy (diplomacy*) with the addition of other means." If bombing Gaza increases political instability in the region and animus towards Israel by its allies, it actively renders it less safe and less secure. The *actual* end goal of this is to give Conservatives politicians an enemy to saber-rattle against, for which I can cite both precedent and sources.

When you take a people's lands away and try to kill them, they become extremists. The thing is, Israel, and Zionism in general, is exactly the same thing as this, just on a bigger scale. Antisemitism, the force that exiled the Jews from their land (much longer ago) and killed them en masse (much more of them), is still a very widespread ideology, in the Middle East and beyond. Jewish people, especially Zionists, do not perceive current events in isolation - the genocide they are currently engaged in is not a response to Hamas's attack, it is a response to the general hostility of the Arab and wider antisemitic world. if you're talking about the assyrian and babylonian captivities, those events resulted in diaspora, not a genocide, and they predate the foundation of islam by many centuries. i'm not saying those forceful deportations were "justified" in any way - i'm just saying that likening them to the genocidal slaughtering that is currently happening, seems a bit disproportionate, although i agree with your general sentiment that grave injustices inevitably lead to radicalisation amongst the oppressed.
