One wire is insulated. One wire is not. Which is which?
Thank you in advance.

The white is likely positive, and the uninsulated negative.

The white + braid is the 24VDC out of the power supply. Use a multimeter to work out if it's white +ve (probably, but not for sure).

Multimeter. Or do something stupid and likc your fingers and touch it plugged in
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
That won't tell you which is positive/negative though (licking it, that is - the multimeter absolutely will work!)

Stick it in water, you should get twice as many bubbles on the + side because hydrogen?
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
Not sure, I never experimented with that.

Isn't there usually a third wire and connector for ground line? (Atleast where i live there is.)
DaRealRickSanchez
No third wire. ?
BrickShakes
Only on the AC side, DC only needs two wires since it's not alternating.
BrickShakes
Many smaller appliances also ignore the ground wire on AC, which is fine for small loads under roughly 100 watts.

So do you agree that the white wire is probably the positive?
BrickShakes
Yes I'm 99.9% sure that the white one is the positive.

Thank you. I really do appreciate it.
