One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my entire life was watching the gray on gray of pre-dawn far at sea, and then the horizon and the sea lighting up as the sun slowly crept up and set the entire world ablaze. The sea was yellow and orange, this guy was yellow and orange, and the edges were all gray as the marine fog peeled back. Truly amazing and beautiful in every possible way. Something that stuck with me my entire life.
If you've never read John Muir you should. His books aren't riveting reads overall (imo), but he describes nature like he's writing a Bible. he'll write two pages describing a sunrise in the most poetic way, kinda like you just did.

I was in the Outer Banks in 2018 and managed to be awake for a sunrise. I was amazed by how everything was pink and silver.
