They declared a full invasion. Hamas was never the target, they were the excuse, the casus belli. Whatever they don't take through military force, they'll continue to steal through gradual settler invasion, as they've already been doing, legally under their laws. Palestine will be no more.

1) Palestine is more than just Gaza, it also includes the West Bank, which is controlled by Fatah (who hates Hamas) and East Jerusalem and is not at war with Israel and 2) I think massacring over 1000 people in a day, over 90% of which are civilians, including murdering over 260 concert goers makes Hamas a pretty big target. If you actually cared for a free Palestine you would condemn Hamas’ actions, as, per their charter, they are only concerned with the eradication of Jews, not freedom.

If I cared for a free Palestine, I would condemn Hamas? That makes no sense. Hamas has nothing to do with Israel systematically erasing Palestinian existence. Hamas is a gaggle of shitbags that deserve to be hung, but that won't free Palestine. Israel not being controlled by an ethno-nationalist regime, not being dedicated to controlling all of the historic lands of Israel and willing to take homes and rights from Palestinian civilians will be a START to a free Palestine.

Palestine. They are an extremism organization who will sabotage any effort by the PA and Israeli government to form a lasting peace, which could lead to recognition of territorial land. This is one of the main reasons why both Egypt and Fatah support the blockade around Gaza, as neither of these organizations support nor feel they can deal with Hamas on a daily basis. Unfortunately Hamas has remained the government in Gaza since their last election in 2006, so I don’t see this changing soon.

None of this changes two simple facts. One, Hamas has never and will never be strong enough to achieve that goal. Israel is a powerful nation with powerful allies and unless they obtain nukes, they will never achieve their goal, and have never come close. Two, again, if Hamas disappeared tomorrow, Israel would still continue erasing Palestine at a leisurely pace as they've been doing for decades, because that is Israel's goal. Sending settlers to steal homes has nothing to do with Hamas.
