The House GOP has voted in committee to eliminate the independent Election Assistance Commission, tasked with helping states to improve voting systems, preventing fraud and hacking. The move was made, according to spokesmen, to 'eliminate government waste'.

the commission was created post bush v gore, so yeah, it kinda does have a purpose. and hacking is only going to become more of a problem.

How? Voting machines aren't/shouldn't be connected to a network. Most malfunctions have occurred because of the manufacturer not hacking

because humans have access to the machines. how hard is it to put a USB stick into an unattended computer?

So you have to break the seal, open it without anyone noticing, put a memory card in it and boom hacked. Then when the machines are taken 1/

And checked before the votes are counted you have to hope someone doesnt notice the broken seal which makes that machines votes invalid...
