I'm about 80% sure this is taking place on what is normally the Waterworld show at a Universal Studios park. It was indeed very impressive to watch that show, so it's no surprise they adapted to another property with aplomb. They "crashed" a plane through the wall at one point, really wasn't expecting that.

We saw The Terminator show there back in the 2000s. Special effects were astounding... 3D on the screen, but somehow real actors seamlessly emerged from the screen at times. Ended with a massive explosion and smoke so thick I couldn't see my son sitting in the seat next to me.

Loved the Waterworld show, I think seeing that as a kid helped me appreciate tokusatsu when I was older.
