Alpha Legion aren’t a renegade chapter though. They’re one of the original legions

They're on the outs with the Imperium due to traitorous actions during the heresy, but have no allegiance to chaos,

and are rumored to actually still be loyal. Pretty cut and dry there compaired to a chaos warband.

Yeah I know all that, but they’re not a chapter. They have the legion keyword in the codex
