So we are prepping for an upcoming anime market and decided to try making some coins. What do you all think of the first test?
I couldn't decide on the English or the Japanese so we made both.

So like. What’s the legality of doing this? What’s keeping Kodansha from suing you into the ground?

The art was custom done by an artist which we paid for this purpose, granted the original IP holder can shutdown anything they want. Think of any artist Alley at any convention. If an IP holder wants to walk through and shut down anyone using their IP they have every right to it.
Nothing can stop them. Most companies don't because it is expensive and the art does better for the actual IP. It's the larger companies and the bulk sellers that they after because it's worth their time.
