2015 Chevrolet Volt
I'm a huge fan of serial hybrids. Most of the benefits of an EV while having a backup solution if you run out of battery. I do 95% of my driving without burning a single drop of gasoline.
As a bonus, I don't even pay to recharge my battery anymore because work has free EV charging!

It's absolutely nuts how GM basically birthed the first REAL PHEV and nobody cared and now, a whole decade later, everybody makes PHEVs. Same with the Bolt; a crazy capable EV that was CHEAP and for some reason nobody bought them :(

In a series hybrid, the engine only powers a generator to charge batteries and only batteries power the wheels. Parallel hybrid, both the engine and batteries power the wheels.

Serial works, too. I thought I was correcting you until I realized it was a Volt. I'm eager for the Ramcharger, which will be a serial hybrid.
