Yes! The model I bought was pre-sliced and had interlocking pegs. It also had a hollowed out section down the entire length of the sword for a steel dowel which helps to reinforce it

I use Hatchbox PLA mainly just because it’s what I’ve always used and it gets the job done (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it), but I am open to suggestions!

Oh, suggestion. You will at some point get tired of sanding and wonder about chemical smoothing:pla basically only responds to 2things, MEK(NOT substitute, will not work) and chloroform( DO NOT. Hollywood does not represent it properly. It is so so much worse. Binds with tissue and blocks oxygen absorption so you can’t just breathe it out.). Stick with the sanding unless you get into serious care with protective gear. You can do small things with Plastruct, which is 10% mek and functions as a

Agreed!! I thought about getting into ABS for a while but figured it wasn’t worth the hassle of an enclosure or the (literal) headache. I credit the fine layer lines for this prop to my Bambu printer — it’s seriously impressive for 0.4mm nozzle!!

Abs is…I am distrustful of things that offgas. I have printed with tpu and even a small amount of nylon with my old printer but the new one doesn’t quite fit any enclosure I can fit in the room, heh.

Wonderful way to bind plastic. It’s not glue, it liquifies the surface briefly then evaporates out leaving it solid, so joining two pieces is quite literally making them one single piece. It’s a mean chemical though. Rashes on contact with skin, damaging fingernails, noxious, you name it. Other than that-elegoo PLA serves me well and Mika3d has given some beautiful results that are just pleasant to the touch and it prints very easily on my neptune 4 max.

I’ve used elegoo for their resin quite a bit, I’ll have to check out their PLA!

Used to get wonderful results printing .1 with those filaments and a .1mm nozzle on my old neptune 2s but I am still enjoying the speed of large pieces on the 4m.
