when was this written? Why is a fine of $12k seen as about equal to five years in prison? If it's based on how long you'd have to work off a $12k fine, then it was written when minimum wage was $1.20/hr.

Trump was giving away $1500 checks trying to buy votes when he was president under the CV19 he let get grossly out of the control and that didn't work then so there is still hope.

The problem is that will require violence and there is a large group of people who will oppose violence of any type for any reason. Even when some are being marched to the gallows and someone throws a brick in protest, people will say "listen, I'm just as upset as you, but we can't resort to violence! Make your voice heard with your votes! What? Voting is rigged? Talk to your politicians then. What? The people being sent to the gallows because they did that? Oh well"

@OP - They don't have to register to get money. They just have to sign his petition. That is 100% legal.

Source? If the petition is to say get an initiative on the ballot, then yes, it would be illegal. But this is just a generic petition, with no electoral implications.

Yup. To extend your metaphor though, there's a table with a sign that says sign this petition saying you want to save the rainforest, and you get $100. You walk up, sign the petition, and then they say, while you are here, do you also want to register to vote? You get the $100 even if you don't register, but they are banking on most people doing that since it's so easy to do.

I'm not a lawyer, but I did see the Legal Eagle video about raffles and giveaways and I do not see a way to enter his drawing for free so that might also be illegal, I don't know.

Well, that depends on how pedantic you want to get and how the law is interpreted - which I'm not qualified to do. Just that it takes time and time is valuable would be one way to look at it, to say nothing of, for example, having to pay a bus fare to get there in person or whatever. I think the paying to register to vote part is a clear violation though.
