determine whether an evacuation is needed or the plane can taxi to a bay on the other engine.
I was thinking more for larger fires since we're talking about potential loss of life, but yeah small engine fires don't get imemdiate evac.
If the pilot is asking for an external inspection, it seems implied that the engine has been secured, meaning the fire has been
extinguished, as far as they can tell, hence the external inspection to confirm. If the fire is ongoing with indications in the cockpit,
