That was not as exciting to me as I thought it would be. I’m actually looking forward to posts of how others perceived it. I was in a 99% totality zone and it was just like it gets right before a big storm. Dark, cool, breezy, quiet. Meh. Thunderstorms are way cooler phenomena than this. Just not as rare.
I was at 93% and I agree. I used it as a teaching moment for my kids. From what I understand is that at 100% totality it gets exciting depending on your location. I heard comments on how the animals and insects change in response to the eclipse and if you’re surrounded by them and experience that it adds to the overall experience. I’m going to track the next solar eclipses globally and see if I can plan for something similar to comments. Maybe go camping or something.
