One day out if the blue my grandpa came home with this string of pearls to surprise my grandma. Just because he knew she'd like them, no special occasion.
About 40 yrs later when my grandma passed away, 12 years to the day after her husband, these pearls were passed down to me. They are the only thing I have left of my grandparents.
