Minnesota does seem a tad out of place.

kind of shocked at the fact WI is so bad. Vermont has been kicking ass on all fronts during this cluster. same with Hawaii

I seems to me that the areas most impacted by COVID (numbers of deaths) seem the most interested in the vaccine. NY, NJ, RI, MA, etc.

So, maybe they're interested *because* of the impact?

That is my theory.

ND, SD have the most deaths and some of the least amount of interest in a vaccine. Vermount and HW both have the least yet deaths 1/2

have some of the most interest. in fact if you are going by rate per 100,000 the connection is pretty weak.

Your comment is provably false. SD is 9th in deaths per million pop and ND is 13th. The most is NJ, NY, RI, MA and in that order.

so you are correct. I was looking at cases per 100k not death.

Well, I care more if they die versus if they feel like shit for two weeks. That is a bias on my part that I must admit to.

I do think population density has a lot to do with this. There may be a genetic factor too. France vs Germany gives us different numbers.

you realize that the 0.6% increase of survival comparing NY to SD was not people who were sick for two weeks. they were hospitalized.

If instead of ranking by % or rate, we go with raw counts, It is CA, NY, TX, FL, PA in that order. CA has 62k to 2k for SD.

Now for VT, HW, and AK, they are the lowest by rate, by raw count VT is edged by AK. So from the bot HW, AK, VT on raw. Rate is HW, VT, AK.

I would suspect that Vermont can and does see the shit show in the neighboring states and would like to avoid that.
