If she didn't want to come in it would be the first thing she'd do, got a few nasty bruises from how hard she could crack her tail. Wouldn't bite though thankfully.
She's a goanna, which is one of the smaller kinds of monitor lizards. Her name is a pun on "goanna." Komodo dragons are the largest kind of monitor lizard, but she's much too small to be a komodo.
