Speaking as a professional animator they actually don’t mean anything. Animation takes such a long time that we get bored and just doodle nonsense and gibberish on every page.

It was...fine. I enjoy the comic more.

I saw it. I wouldn't call it bad. I would say it failed to hold my attention though. Some moments were cute, some moments were funny. But a lot of it was just kinda bland. Character design struggled because of the nature of the aliens they all look exactly the same aside from accessories and tattoos. Story struggled to find good pacing and I'm not certain who the intended audience was, I get the feeling the writers weren't sure either which made it difficult to identify with the characters.

Not too surprised to hear that. Strange Planet doesn’t feel like a thing that works outside short jokes.

I'm of the opinion that it barely works for that. 99% of the comics are just "this thing we view as normal seems weird when you remove all the context around it and make the wording really generic".

Jokes are subjective, but yeah it's really more of a 'nose-snort' 'small chuckle' style of humor.

I think they mean they don't like it being animated and not just a comic they can read. Big L opinion though in my book though.

Good to hear, their pilot episode was fantastic in and of itself, but I think it deserves a full season at least

I loved it! The pilot is a fantastic standalone short film. I hope they do get to do a whole season, but even if they never do, the pilot is a work of art and I'm glad they made it
