When they decided to feature that letter, they had the perfect image in mind…

Have you tried maybe dealing with your insecurities instead of making it someone else's problem? You know, deal with you feelings like an adult?

Here's the thing. Everyone looks. Just don't be rude about it.

My partner and I both check out hot femme-presenting people. Like one time at a fancy restaurant in NYC we had this server who was just really awesome and my partner pointed out her amazing bust and how her necklace and the cut of her top accentuated it perfectly. I married the right person.

An ex pointed out topless girls for me at the beach. Trust your partner or move on.

Her main gripe is that it hinders the conversation on dates because he doesn't focus on it.

That is a bigger issue for sure, odd that something else is used as headline then.

The right partner ogles with you.

your self-esteem or lack of it isnt up to your partner or their responsibility. if you dont feel good about yourself, your options are improvement and acceptance. trying to control other peoples behavior isnt going to fix anything for you.

my message promoting the building of healthy self image really seems to have offended imgur.

If you don't want to help your partner feel good about themselves, they probably deserve better than you.

that has literally nothing to do with what i said. its not a factor. at all.

My wife will check out other women, but will always say… yea, but you’re prettier or something along those lines. Even when I know she’s wrong, it still feels nice.

'my partner is emotionally inteligent'' you SURE about that, lass?

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 11

Yes. Being empathetic to others and understanding their viewpoints is not in conflict with appreciating tiddies.

Maybe generally speaking, but this reads like he keeps staring at other women to the point of ignoring his SO in the middle of a conversation. During the few times they manage to spend time together in their long-distance relationship. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2024/apr/07/my-partner-ogles-other-women-and-it-makes-me-feel-unattractive

Ooh, you went to the actual article. Nice. It's entirely possible this is something more problematic. At the very least, they need to talk about it, which it makes clear they haven't. Does it make him lacking in EI, not to have noticed her discomfort? Hard to say. Maybe she's good at hiding it. Maybe he doesn't realize he's doing it, which, I don't know, feels like a sort of lack of introspection or personal action analysis more than that.

yeah? then he know how it make her feel, and is cruel

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 9

Nah, man, even "emotionally intelligent" people can't read minds. One must communicate with their partner in order to be understood. At the same time, what "emotionally intelligent" person would say their partner must never look at anyone else but them? That's cruel, too.

yeah, thats not oogling, get off the internet more.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

Blocked again? Some people really can't stand their little world being challenged in any way. "Ogling" is just what a jealous, controlling partner would call "looking", to a third party.

First time on the Internet?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

I predicted people would be speculating without reading, didn't I?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah, but that can be picked up without being on the internet by participating in a single conversation and not having the observational skills of a rock.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, but you also apparently thought providing a link would make a difference, so you can forgive the confusion.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

I didn't bother with the link, because the actual subject of the article is not what the post was about, it's about the fact that, for once, one of the most famous memes ever actually got used in a 100% perfect, non-meme scenario. I actually lol'ed when I saw the image and headline together.
