For now you need to be in the military, yes. But that can change quickly if Trump is re-elected. I think he used the word "military" to invoke a sense of strong man authoritarianism which his followers absolutely love. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts rounding up political opponents to the thunderous applause of his supporters.

It seems as time goes that “almost” part is less and less likely. Because of him there has already been lots of irreparable damage done, not just what he has done himself but what his party has done and what they have become to try to keep their demagogue cult leader in power. Even if he dropped dead today and everything that’s going on just stopped and went back to normal, it would be generations before we could repair the damage that’s already been done, if at all.

One or two polls can be a statistical blip, but when dozens of them are all saying the same thing, there is a trend there. And no, they all don't call land lines, or even use phones, many use multiple methods to contact people...to increase the polls' accuracy.
