Trump lost in 2020 and I can't believe that his support has increased since then, given that he's spent his time since 2020 insulting women, anyone who isn't white, and a lot of his former allies. I know some people will vote for him no matter what, but I have to imagine he's turned away at least 10-20% of his former supporters with his sheer inability to keep his foot out of his mouth.

No change, I hear you cry.

If you disagee with Russia, its coming your way too.

As a restoftheworlder, this is accurate except that we aren't smiling. At all.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This could not be more true except that the bystanders should be terrified

Stupid like a fox!

That about sums it up

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here is hoping enough republicans realize the disastrous possibilities of Trump getting the-elected and come out to help us be rid of this man and his cult.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

...gods, I hope not.

American voters are incapable of learning from their mistakes (Reagan twice, Bush twice).

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

It's not like they have any choice.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

45% of the people minimum will do something stupid. I hope no more than that at least. Prove me wrong please!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

not this time - It's Kamala by a landslide.

hoping it’ll end soon and we won’t have to hear about maga republicans again

Apparently they don’t. 🤣

I think you’re naively underestimating Trump’s appeal and the voracious support he has from his followers. Didn’t we learn that lesson in 2016? A lot has changed since then, yes, but it’s dangerous to underestimate the appeal of fascism to those who feel lost and out of control in their lives.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I'm sure in 2016 people had convincing lists of why Hillary was gonna win.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

A lot of independents are going to vote for Trump because things got more expensive in the past four years. This was always going to make things more difficult for Democrats and a big part of why things are so close.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Your mistake is assuming their strategy relies on winning the election.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

That very much is their top aim. Makes everything much easier for them. Trying to steal the election via state legislatures and just outright ignoring what their own people voted for is a nuclear option. One I'm still not convinced they go through with even if they lose, because if it doesn't work, they will be standing out in the cold with no clothes on. It would be so brazen an attempt at a coup that they'll have no defense for it other than, "We thought we could get away with it".

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I am hopeful (and voted already), but between underhanded tactics like burning ballot boxes, throwing away mail in ballots, and the obscenely stupid lawsuits, it's going to be close. It would be great to be spectacularly wrong and get a solid blue country. Not just for the president but for the reps.

Australia gettin' ready to watch the next season of America, the reality tv show. I know more about American politics than I know about Australian Parliament, but our Parliament is dull and boring, biggest scandal recently is the Prime Minister asking for a seat upgrade from Qantas CEO. America's politics is like a new season of House of Cards but without the wit and subtlety

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, the American voters are going to do the right thing.
It’s the Republican elected officials and judges you have to worry about.

Harris is going to win, but if she doesn’t win by a large margin, Republicans are going to overturn the election, crown Trump, and invoke the Insurrection Act to imprison and kill everybody who protests it.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

There's also this closely related classic version of it

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, when American voters do stupid things, the consequences a way less funny than an exploding nucular power plant.

Just had a guy whom I game with tell me hes voting MAGA and its not that he likes Trump but he doesnt like Harris and hes not a girl so -SMH

2 years ago | Likes 154 Dislikes 4

There's probably a sizeable percentage of Americans who vote MAGA for the single reason that the opponent is a black woman.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

NGL friend if you still game with him you're part of the issue.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

What is he one of the Little Rugrats? A girl president? They have cooties.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

So he's dumb as hell. Got it.

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

I heard an interview where a young guy said he will vote for Trump because he doesn't want a woman to be president and because Trump is so manly and strong. And I can't decide which is more fuckin stupid.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s such a middle school level mentality. Does he scream like a 12 year old when he loses matches?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kamala Harris is gonna legalize marijuana. Blue Wave!

2 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 2

It's on the ballot in Florida right now. And I keep getting political mail saying that trump is voting yes on it. Which seems weird.

Oregon has entered the chat (dispensers on every corner)

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not a single issue voter by any means, but If I fully believed it, that would be the only necessary deciding factor. Mind you the Four Years of Store Brand Tang are also more than enough.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I’d drink store brand Tang. He’s like if you ordered EmergenC from a really, really unregulated supplements supplier and it comes in gallon buckets and the flavor is SUPER CITRUS BLASTER or some shit.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Divorce him!!!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

tell him hes got small dick energy and no woman will ever truly love him

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes like most of history its been done before. What is scary is that when the Third Reich came to power the balance of the world was not truly ever with it bit look how close they came. The problem is that Trump plus Putin plus China means that Western democracy will be overpowered and the new dark ages will come. Yikes!

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Maybe a new dark forever. An absurdly robust surveillance state and AI might be tools of oppression we're NEVER able to overcome.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah. I would no longer game with him. He's obviously a misogynist.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The only thing someone I know could say repeatedly is "Taxes will be better" and "Don't take [insert bad thing] so seriously, he's just joking". /Sigh

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There’s a lot of data suggesting this guy probably won’t end up voting. If it’s a 30 minute wait he’s probably not gonna bother.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like there are a lot of dudes like this. they dont really like trump but they will vote for him because masculinity or some shit. it’s dumb af

2 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 2

People who fret about masculinity are the most frail motherfuckers on the face of the planet.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

what i told one, acquaintance, was “Real men aren’t scared to vote for Harris, even if MAGA folks try to bully them”. he got just *so mad*.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Is he twelve? Does he still think girls have cooties? I can't even begin to wrap my brain around this. There's still a day and a half left. You ask him why he'd vote for a criminal traitor rapist over a woman. You ask him if he's afraid Kamala will give the White House cooties, if you need to. You tell him about the word "misogyny". You give him a wake-up slap in the face.

And if it doesn't work? Then, yeah. Cut him off.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have female colleagues who won't vote for her because women are meant to be subservient to their husbands and "it's a head of household thing"

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean... seriously. That isn't even a political stance. He's ignoring ALL the politics because of her gender. That's misogynistic as all heck, is what that is. Which, of course, is right up the MAGAts' alley. I'd normally agree with the rest and say to cut him off now, but at this point I am going to push for even the chance that he's not THAT stupid and can be snapped out of it in time to vote.

... seriously... "can't vote for girl because not girl" caveman logic...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A tangental friend is voting for Trump because he's the burn down the system type not realizing Trump won't burn it down, he'll just make it a whole lot worse with no recourse for us besides open revolt.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thats it pretty much. I want to be able to tell him. Part of me thinks theres a good person who's just been brainwashed. Another part of me wonders if its just an act and he really is just selfish and evil.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The fact that they're misogynistic in not voting for a "girl" kinda says all that needs to be said really. I'm sorry, it's terminal, your friend is a dipshit.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ignorance at least with a touch of malice. Pure malice at worst.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The problem is that educating people like that is the hardest task. Did they ever say in school "When will I ever need this?"

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I probably wouldn't game with him anymore.

2 years ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 1

Yup, that's pretty much how I lost all my friends...... They'd all rather hang with a deadbeat with no job and who lives with his girlfriends mom while she watches the kids all day and he plays online and posts racists memes in discord while his gf works at the family dollar.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Something tells me that's not it....

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Why, because you snuck through my comments after I told people not in the US to be worried about the US election?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're right. That was petty. I apologise.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a friend with whom we once laughed so hard over something dumb that one of us actually passed out for a moment from lack of breath and faceplanted on the carpet, getting rug burn on his forehead. This, of course, made us all laugh even harder - I'm surprised no one died that night. He's also the person who introduced me to imgur.

Anyway one day he mentioned that he voted for Trump due to supporting some anti-trans laws. I'm a furry. We have lots of trans people.

We don't talk anymore.

2 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

My best friend of 20 years went MAGA and after I made one attempt to convince him otherwise he blocked me. We haven't talked since. His roommate was BI and my partner is Pan. I'm pretty sure he got mad when I told him that he would literally be voting for people who claims those two very important people to us shouldn't exist. I miss him sometimes but otherwise I don't regret it...

Tell him WHY!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ain't nothing but a heartbreak

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I call bullshit! You don’t like him but yet believe all his lies about Kamala? Ok.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 26

How did you take that away from what Ive said? SMH= shake my head. It doesnt square with his character till now and I was quite surprised

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

with some of the things he believes. I figured him too smart for that, and was surprised since he was a family man with his stance to women.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The only bad things about Kamala are the lies Trump spreads. For him to not like Kamala, he has to be believing Trumps lies. And why believe Trump if you don’t like him?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Trump isn't the only one spewing the lies they're everywhere especially for people who get news primarily through social media or have a work/friend circle that's largely right wing

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Like I said it was quite non-sensical to me. Especially when he said "Im not a girl, so-" and hes supposed to have a wife and kid. Just... SMH.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that’s a big red flag there. What does being a girl have to do with it? Sounds like your friend is a closeted bigot.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Single issue voters are killing this process. “I get that he’s a serial killer sociopath, but he said a vote for me means you like fries, and I like fries, so…”

2 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 1

Granted in this particular election that single issue might be "do you still want to be a democracy?", so... Bit of an overwhelmingly important single issue, that one.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Single issue voters have been a mainstay for Republican votes for decades now. Long been a problem. Thing is, the abortion thing is coming back to bite them, as we're getting single issue women voters for Democrats now.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I’m more concerned about the Gaza single-issue voters. What does it matter that you had the moral high ground over Harris voters if your vote for Jill Stein split the vote and allowed Trump to win?

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

Young, non-conservative Muslims are hardly some big voting demographic, though. It's why it was always stupid to suggest Democrats should make some big effort to placate them by throwing Israel under the bus, which would anger the much bigger Jewish voting demographic.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

All single issue voting in general is completely idiotic. It’s like staying in a violent abusive relationship because the person cooks well.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Single issue Gaza Voters are prob some of the dumbest people there is. Like, not only has Trump promised to help Israel genocide even harder. Hes activley asked Netanyahu to not do a ceasefire or hostage trade to help him win. He will be so much worse then Harris and they're happy to let him win for a real shitty false moral standing.

Its like not voting Haris 'cause shes not an avid Trans ally, ignoring Project 2025 making it a crime punishable by death. Oh Wait. Idiots doing that too -.-'

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

America is just the preview of what conservatives are/have done in other countries.

2 years ago | Likes 217 Dislikes 9

It's a preview of late stage capitalism. It's where that system will always lead.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Canada's conservatives are literally just lagged by 5 years. They don't have an original thought in their collective skulls; they just parrot whatever the GOP does, a few years down the road. My province did just oust a conservative Premier who was campaigning on anti-trans rhetoric, so that's nice at least. But then another province just gave a 92% approval rating to a climate change denying nutjob whose entire political career is dismantling public services. So.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Always good to know you're not alone... I guess

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, German conservatives are copying Rep style.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Just because Berlusconi is dead.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You are delusional if you think other countries have gone through what is happening in the USA. Some countries might be following the trend but you guys are far ahead of everyone else.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I dont know man, some of the far right parties in Europe seem pretty damn bad. Republican party is led by Trump, but there's still a non-Trump wing of the party that isn't far right and is keeping them mildly less radical. While far right parties in Europe are just more openly fascist. They still rely on coalitions with more typical conservative parties, but again, that just kind of puts them on the same level as Republicans, doesn't it?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Well, we know it's happened in at least ONE other country before. Jokes aside, our version may be stupider, cause yanno...America...But we are not the first country to give away freedom to a strong man dictator.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They're all in bed with Putin and Xi.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

As much as I despise my German conservatives, that's way off road. That's the good thing about a multi party democracy: you can have both - disgusting far right fascist Russia lovers, and somewhat less disgusting neoliberal regressive but still democratic conservatives.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Eh, don't underestimate Russian cyber warfare. It doesn't matter whether their intentionally serving putin or not, just as long as their actions lead to a weakening of nato, either as a whole, or the individual countries within. Eventually Putin wants east Germany Back. If that means taking west Germany as well so be it.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And this is why it's so irresponsible to have a man in charge whose morally bankrupt with no interest beyond his own. At least Hitler cared about a Germany, sort of (may he rot). Trump would sell out the US (and NATO along with it) for a harem of underage eastern European sex slaves that look like Ivanka.
