They put extra screws in things so you end up with extras adter you put it back together.

If it still works it was just a surplus, you'd be amazed how how many bolts, springs, ball bearings, seals, washers and sensors you can leave out of car engines and the buggers still fire up after a re-build. You're not even a real mechanic/technician if you don't have parts left over.
