I can't imagine how ungodly hot that space must have been for everyone involved.

So much......shedding.

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 4

If the fur is shedding much it's low quality, and should've have been used

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not just IT. The US submarine force would be crippled.

...when i heard tell of bunkroom shenanigans from a former seaman i thought he was exaggerating...

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The smell must be indescribable

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 15

Most of them have fans to keep cool and keep their suits immaculately clean. Because no one that spends 5 digits on a suit is going to let it get stunk up by typical comicon funk.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The ones that do however... god it may be one of the worst...

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The american IT industry? Dude is thinking to small. The entire internet is at risk. Turns out "furries run the internet" is not a meme

Why in the fuck would put all that shit on in a goddamn airplane? <_>

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There was a furry con in Pittsburgh one year. I drove past them walking around town. I recognize so many.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

AC or no AC, there is a waft, a must, a funk that is gonna start rising from this plane. Everyone in the airport will know when it connects at the gate.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I know at least 4 people in this picture

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I only know 2 of em

"We regret to inform our fellow passengers that the air conditioning system of the plane has malfunctioned."

Oh, that's fine. We'll just open the window. They like sticking their head out the window sometimes~

Windows only open if it’s a Boeing flight

I once googled how expensive those costumes are and all I can say is, How'd IT spend that much and still have enough money for other things? Those things are not cheap let me tell you this, heck, actually met one and I asked and she gave me a 5 digit number for the price of the costume that she actually made herself. God Damn, well, she's in real estate.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If I was there I'd have an extremely hard time not throwing stuff down the asle and screaming "FETCH!"

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This happens on pet play night at our club and it's as hilarious and fun as you're imagining.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm curious where tf this flight was going

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Down, hopefully

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

To or from a convention. Coin toss if that's a furry con or an IT industry event.

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

The two are often scheduled close to one another in the same location for convenience.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I've learned from Imgur... or at least heard someone once say here, that this may legitimately be a thing.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

MFF originated as a furry side event for a science fiction con that outgrew the original con and became it's own event. But usually they're technically part of the con rather than 2 overlapping cons. Until they overgrow and the con has to decide to diverge to keep theme or such. At which point they usually change weeks of attendance for obvious reasons

It was going to Hell. That's typical for Handbasket Airlines.

TSA must have been like, "Screw it. We are not checking all those... just open the gates."

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The first person I ever had sex with was a goth and it was in a cemetery late at night. Today she's a furry and works as some kind of highly paid network administrator at one of the big internet backbone providers. Meme confirmed AFAIK.

1 year ago | Likes 176 Dislikes 2

For some reason I read "had sex with" as "saw had sex" and spent the rest of the comment trying to figure out why you were lurking around in cemeteries trying to see people have sex.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see how this is relevant, but most reading this comment will be focused on that first sentence.

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

This isn't Reddit, I bet at least some people on Imgur have actually had sex before

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Congrats on the goth sex!

I write porn as a profession, and my biggest customers are furries. Wealthy, influential furries. Like, "Hollywood studio lawyer" and "Fortune 500 I.T. Professional" furries. I didn't realize how many professionals were in the community until I started getting people offering four figures for weird, niche fetish content.

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

How does one get a career like that? I'm interested.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

One: Don't start as a career; I started as a hobbyist who just happened to love writing and smut. Two: Furries. Just... Join Furaffinity or Hentaifoundry, or look for certain online communities where you might find people looking for that kind of thing. I've written several novellas at this point, and a ton of short stories. I don't get commissioned often, but I have some dedicated high-paying customers who know I'm what they're looking for, artistically speaking.

Every furry (4) that I know works IT or for the government. Do with that info as you will

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I mean, it makes sense. Those full costumes aint cheap.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've worked IT for 20+ years, none of them furries, let alone the smartest ones

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was that in summer or winter? Graveyards look much better in the cold fog, but those slabs get cooooold

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only furry I've ever known of is a smart IT guy in a key IT role.

1 year ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

(Taking notes) Step 1 of successful career: goth sex in cemetery at night. Hmm, yes.

1 year ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 0

It worked for Mary Shelley. She did it on her mother's grave, even.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

For many women, this is a bucket list top 3 item.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a non furry IT dude, this makes me think that so many of my coworkers must secretly be furries and now I have to figure out their furry personalities. I won't be able to get any work done for weeks.

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Think of this as your gateway event. Exposure to furries didn't make me a furry. I don't have a fursuit or a fursona. But it gave me a, shall we say, certain appreciation for the lifestyle and content.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I have no strong feelings. I like when stuff makes people happy, but this is like knitting or puzzles for me. I'm aware other people enjoy it and I applaud it. But it's not for me.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Look up the dates of the major furry conventions and see who takes vacation around them

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Oh just purr next to them and see who is responsive

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So who all am I seeing at FWA next weekend? :3

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That's knot good... so good.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do I want to know what "Yiffling" means. The last thing I googled was about the hyenas and not sure if I can handle this much PTSD in a week.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

No, you don't.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's what xi said!

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

...inb4 the captain was also a furry.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't know what yiffing is and I worry about googling it on a work device.... Context?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That plane must smell like BO and wet dog.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the art commission economy

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are you allowed to be fully fursona'd out on a plane?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

most furries bring their heads with them as its the most fragile part of the suit and liable to get damaged. They did ask us to not wear them in flight but for a photo op like this its prolly fine.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If it's a private plane.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Question: I'm attempting to get into tech, but I am not a furry. Do I even have a chance in this field?

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

I was a web designer with a furry tag, but no suit. You can just wear the ears headband and you'll be fine to fit in.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. About half of the industry is either cis and vanilla or very private. You could blush when asked what you do at home or how many partners you have, and shyly not answer. They'll assume you're super dirty but committed and not bother you.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

are you kinky or trans? JK but it does consume a lot of the field, be open to it in a gentle way (you dont have to ask for it, just dont ick people for it) and honestly you'll be socially fine and so long as you're half competent you'll be fine.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. Software engineering specifically can be a bit quirky because of the dynamics of interviewing. But even in that case, if you've got the brain for it and enough passion/grit/determination, you'll find a way to make it work. Dig deep, push hard, don't stop learning.

Let's just put it this way: Bill Gates and Steve Jobs made it. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Yes. Just need the programmer socks as starter. The rest will come later.

That's called edging

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, good *phew* Glad to know I can ease my way into it.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yeah, not everything happens in one go all the time, the furry can ease into you over time, just takes some patience.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Patience and lube, I take it?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If that's what you're into. There is no guide book. You might be ace

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think it might be an American thing. I've been in IT for decades now and never seen anything like this this side of the pond.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I've never known a single one of my coworkers at any of my jobs to visit Pornhub, but it's probably safe to bet at least some of them do.

I also have no idea if any of them were lgbt, trans, or part of a fandom, but that says more about me than them.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uhm... european furry here and... webdeveloper. And I'm not alone.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I've seen nerds, but it's mostly people who want to make money. Also a shit ton of tech are immigrants who are by and large conservative.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I enjoy the meme, but I have no actual awareness of it, despite my decades in IT. That said, I don't have.. "kinks".. so it's not like I'd be running in the same circles. I suppose statistically I must have crossed paths with some folks but I'm.. what's the word.. basic. Supremely basic. I doubt anyone would mistake me for someone in their circle.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

German with IT past and multiple family ties to IT here. So many furries, swingers, kinksters in the field ... and the other way round, go to a kink event, half the people there are in tech. Hack events have furry meetups as an official part of them, even. Just because you're not seeing it doesn't mean it's not there.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If you're not a furry, you need to have at least one super-niche kink that you don't mind discussing on Tumblr or the like.

Because, really, swinger parties/BDSM clubs/furry cons are where like 90% of meatspace IT networking happens.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Well damn. I'm feeling pretty called out here.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Called out, or seen?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well shit, I'm fucked. I mean, I have kinks, but noooooo way in hell I'd ever be out with them enough to be public about them. And really, they aren't even that exotic of kinks, either lol.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Coube incredibly specific but overall mundane, like noses

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then make friends with a degree-wielding Librarian. An actual Library and Information Sciences graduate (post-grad is better), because they are always hella bent and get invited to the cool parties AND because they have a kink about organizing and optimizing knowledge, will share you with everyone.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You’re… describing the whole ‘cule.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm a certified freak but every Librarian I've ever met made me feel like an awkward virgin at some point. Plus they know everyone. It's insane.
