We should also ban tall people from basketball - they have an unfair physical advantage.

I used to run at least 5 miles a day. As soon as I started HRT and my testosterone levels dropped, I couldn't do it, I got winded after maybe 1 mile. My T levels were lower than healthy cis women and I lost muscle fast. Trans women who compete are doing it on hard mode.

The only actual trans "issue" these chuds care about is their sheer terror that they may one day unknowingly be attracted to a trans woman and that that will mean they are gay. Notice how you basically never see them talk about trans men.

All the shit about sports and bathrooms is just a smoke screen to make it seem like they have something resembling a legitimate concern.

Fun fact, most professional athletes were born close to the upper side of the cutoff date for when they choose when you go to school. I.e. they were always the oldest kids in the class.

Being born in the correct month has more to do with their performance. A kid with a birthday the day after the sign up cutoff will be on average half a year older than their competition when they sign up the following year. That means they will typically be larger and more coordinated than their peers, and coaches will give them more play time because of this which widens the experience gap over time even as the other kids catch up physically.

I think we should ban sports participation until kids turn 18. anything before that should be nothing more than Phys ed.

Seems like excellent logic to use to implement a number of well funded social support programs, so that everyone is on even footing for most things. This is not a ban trans athletes post. It is, wtf don't you support those types of programs for things that *really* matter in peoples daily lives if you want things to be fair.

The whole “fairness” argument reeks of Harrison Bergeron.

'Don't try to confuse me with that phony 'Science' baloney. If it has to do with kids and sex I have to convince everyone else that, in spite of my search history, I'm not a voting member of the maga pedo lovers club!'...

I find that if you use more than 4 - 5 words to explain your argument to them, MAGA get irrationally mad cause they don't understand anymore.

As someone who was 6'3" at 13 and was essentially a grown man height wise, the parents of kids I played basketball against used to scream at me about how unfair it was that I was allowed to play against their little runts. So yeah puberty. It's okay though. I used to Shaq the fuck outta their shots.🤣 Into the stands. Funny thing was, I was young too. Most of these kids were older than me.

Don't forget also "kids that have their own coaches and go to sportsball summer camps every year, etc" vs kids that don't.

We should put waaaaaay less value on the athletic prowess of our children.

It's bizarre to think that some people get a free higher education just because they can run real fast.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's bizarre is that the same education isn't free for everyone who can get into the school.

It isn't just sports they don't want trans people to be in, because with the Right, it is never about what they say...ever, this is about them wanting trans or gay people out of all life itself.

Who is making the claim that genitals are responsible for an athletic advantage? Far as I can tell the argument is around hormones, bone structure, and muscular volume. If you can provide an example of someone claiming a penis and testicles are linked to athletic performance I'm all ears. Otherwise strawman argument is strawman.

The claim is that men and boys have testosterone which gives them an athletic edge because testosterone increases muscle mass. Testosterone is produced primarily in men’s testicles, hence the name testosterone. The argument is directly tied to which genitals someone has…

What then, in your estimation, is responsible for the overlapping bell curves of athletic performances between men and women to be very highly skewed in favor of mens performances being superior?

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This post is about kids sports being inherently unfair, so the cries to exclude trans kids in the name of fairness doesn’t hold water. You asked what genitals have to do with muscle growth; I replied that testicles produce testosterone. I am not denying that testosterone gives full grown adults an edge in many sports. But FTM take testosterone to get what men-assigned-at-birth already have naturally. I still don’t think it’s right to exclude them.

The post is about maga assigning genitals to athletic performance. The reality is MOST Democrats agree female sports should be a protected class so you're already starting at a disingenuous premise. To my knowledge there's also no one claiming trans people should be excluded from sports, rather that they compete in the category of their sex. If this post is purely about puberty, what is your suggestion? No sex classes between the ages of 9 and 19 to be safe?

Money is one of the biggest advantages someone can have in participating in sports as an athlete. Access to trainers, facilities, equipment, good food....

THIS! So much this. Having the time and the backing is a MAJOR advantage over someone who has neither.

Awhile back people got upset Bout a trans athlete in a chess tourney. So maybe some people just want to be a piece of shit

5 months ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

So I can tell you've never played in a chess tournament.

Incredibly stressful. No different than many other events.

Downvoted by those who've never been in a chess tournament.

Honestly segregating sex in chess is just st00pid to begin with.

I mean, it's dumb elsewhere, but in chess exceptionally so.

5 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Sadly, it needed: male chess players are sexists as fuck :(

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Women's chess tournies exist to help get women playing a game that is otherwise dominated by toxic men. There are no men-only tournaments.

5 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Hmm.

I worry it gives the men an excuse to be ratfucks.

"Oh, you can't stop being assholes? That's ok, rather than take you out and break your thumbs, we'll make a new league so you don't need to learn to be a whole human being"

But it does explain a lot.

If fairness is the main concern, then why aren't sports divided up based on objective classifications that actually matter, light weight class, speed, height, etc.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Many are. Peewee football is almost always weight segregated which tends to fuck over boys who hit growth spurts early. Also young children's sports tend to be gender segregated because girls tend to grow faster then boys before puberty hits, and that really hits sports dads hard.

What a weird read? Look into how Canadian pro hockey players are more likely to be born in the early months of the year.
