Amazing cosplay work! Are the wounds and bandages a permanent part of this outfit, or added for this specific shoot? I take it you are working on multiple variations of Maelle since this doesn't include the armor pieces you were working on?

This outfit is permanently bloody lol! And I ran into roadblocks with my Obscur armor outfit (sewing is hard!) so I needed to take a step back and do some other fun and quick projects

Ah, Maelle. After struggling with Simon being absolutely ridiculous for about an hour, it was pretty satisfying resetting the party to different builds and then one-shotting him in both phases.

Props for saying it wasn't for you rather than saying it was bad. I am one of the many who loved this game, but people can like different things. Sorry it didn't do it for you. Still great cosplay here, though.

I put it down 3 times after getting spanked in the tutorial fights. Then I remembered I'm not playing to impress anyone, so I turned down the difficulty.
Now I'm about 25 hours in and I am in love. So glad I gave it a 4th try!

Nice work. Cosplayers tend towards making rapier hilts both too large and *especially* too long, but while yours is still a little long it's within reason to still be practical & usable. It's difficult to do that sort of small work out of non-metallic materials, so 100% credit where it's due.
For reference, were I buying a real rapier, this is the rough length proportion between hand and hilt that pretty closer to optimal. Like I said, you're pretty close:

NP, my handle may be more applicable than usual.
Rapier hilts are weird, because you hold a rapier out and it's tip-heavy. You can't really make a bigger pommel because it gets in the way of your wrist flexion, so the only other choice is to lengthen the grip to make a longer lever for your counterbalance. But take a look at IRL rapier hilts:
They're SUPPOSED to be tip-heavy. The forward weight of a rapier is intentional and affects thrusting.

Now, I'll also say that, if you're cosplaying a specific character who's sword has a very long hilt, then that's a 100% fine affirmative defense. You're portraying that person, so you should use what that character is using.
Regardless, I want to say again, you did a damn fine job and the cosplay looks fantastic. "Grounded" cosplay that feels like it could really exist is my favorite kind. Nice work.
