I have an overwhelming sense of guilt and had to tell someone
I spent the weekend mulching leaves and thought my cough was from all the dust I was breathing. I went to work since it was only a cough and no other symptoms. My boss even joked that I had Covid-19 and we both laughed about it and went about our day. I left work early to see the doctor since the cough was getting deeper in my chest, I thought great I'm getting bronchitis are something. The doctor gave me a rapid test before checking me for anything else. 15 minutes later I have a positive result.
Again, I only had a cough so I didn't think anything about it and now I am responsible for introducing the virus to my job. I called my job and started contact tracing of anyone I was in contact with.Now I have this guilt that I ruined my coworker's Thanksgiving plans.
I honestly don't know where I got it. I don't know anyone who has had the virus, my job has been virus free, my wife's job has been virus free. I wear a mask everywhere I go.

You can safely bet, you're not the first person that brought it in your workplace. Likely the first one that was aware of it.

My work’s policy is you have to be sent home if you have COVID, if you want to get paid. You can’t call in or you have to use your vacation.

I was told to cancel my vacation I had scheduled for Wednesday. My job is paying up to 10 days and it wont come out of my vacation or sick

My wife has gone for a test but she didn't get the rapid test. We will find out in a few days her result.
