Throwback To my Harp Lights

A little throwback to before the lights on my harp took a shit. I’d had them on there for 2-3 years so they lasted WAAAAY longer than any strip lights I’d ever had on my wall. lol

I want to go with a different brand next time, I’ve been looking at a few different higher quality lights online. Sadly the company is worked with on several occasions went out of business and I had no idea so it’s been back to the drawing board. I also need to get new USB chargers to power the lights.

But in some more positive news, I’ve got 3 new songs recorded. 2 are ambient/drone tracks that I recorded for fun as a means to get me back into writing and a demo version for an improvised piece Id posted about 4 years ago. One drone track is already out on Bandcamp with more to come very soon <3

I still have ALOT of unpacking to do and figuring out where everything is going to go. My main aim right now is to get a desk to actually start assembling my home studio. I think this one would fit the living room the best

This sectional is ancient as it is but we can’t afford to replace it. He’s done FAR WORSE to this couch than just having a chomp tho lmfao The horrors this couch has seen at the paws of Casper are unspeakable… We are trying to keep it in the best shape possible while we can so Im considering trying to save up for this carpet/upholstery cleaner combo. Atleast try to keep it in the best shape possible until we are able to move out.

you know it'd be pretty cool to use addressable RGB led's in the "COB" format so you wouldn't have the individual point lights. Addressable means you could perhaps do cool stuff like making different bits light up different colours when you pluck, or have like chasing rainbows and such like.

Yea someone else mentioned COB lights and the main ones I’ve looked at in that realm are Govee and they’re so expensive. I’m also hoping that with COB lighting I couldn’t have the reflections when I record because sometimes they’d cause bad lense flares that annoyed then he’ll out of me.

Lens flares are strongest with point lights. COB lights don't really have that effect.

This is the kind of thing I was thinking for you, combined with a controller/power supply etc, but that should be the ballpark price.

I would reccomend a COB LED, looks way more expensive and clean. Also to make a led last, make sure to buy a high power, and dim it down. It will last 50K hours. Pixel led would also looks cool.

Ooooh yea I’ve seen the Govee COB lights on Amazon. You’re right tho, they are expensive. 💀 That set in particular is over $100 if memory serves me correctly.

You can find low cost led from Aliexpress. Just dont buy a bad brand. I have worked with led strip the last 10 years. There ls a brand called BTF-Lighting, they sell good quality led.

When you figure out your lighting, let me know? I've done the under-cabinet lighting on my kitchen twice and it's shitting the bed AGAIN, so I'd love any recommendations for strip lighting that'd outlive me.

Another route are prebuilt patio umbrella strips that are as simple to complex as you care to dive. Single colors, neo pixels, sound sensitive led intensity. VU meter effects.
