Facepalm quadfecta

The transition from TNG to DS9 was a rough one. I think that's the reason DS9 was sort of overlooked for so long. Glad to see it resurging in popularity now

Swear Trek, the gift that keeps on giving

It's what Gene Rodenberry would have wanted, massive horndog that he was.

The Defiant in action. Yeah, this is technically from First Contact, a TNG movie, but it's a higher quality gif than many I could find. It's a tough little ship.

Garak's evolution into a bisexual icon gives me joy

You really can find a Simpsons meme for anything

I get a lot of mileage out of this one. Too many people write off various Star Trek shows as "not Star Trek" for generally petty and stupid reasons, including DS9. Still.

Galaxy class ships shit-kicking a Cardassian one. I could watch it all day

It is me

The late show fleet shots in DS9 are great. Look at those galaxy class ships gliding by! I just wish we could get a proper HD remaster.

Futurama crossover! Woo!

Bashir isn't completely terrible with women though. He did get with Leeta and Ezri

Dukat's journey as a character is pure insanity, particularly late show. Honestly? I think I would have preferred they killed him off before the whole "I need to get the evil wormhole aliens on my side" part.

Star Trek: It's political all the way down

Just a great line!

If there's one character in Star Trek down for that kind of activity, it's Dax

Such a great episode

Best unmuted

Tell it, Rom!

He's not wrong

Watch the Irishman Suffer is to DS9 what malfunctioning holodecks were to TNG

He's one handsome man. Criminally underused on Game of Thrones, but then, we all know how it shit the bed near the end.

A very attractive cast. Generally. With, uh, a couple of exceptions...

Those little federation ships seen here dive bombing the Cardassian one: who'd you have to piss off to get assigned to those flying coffins?

Star Trek civilian fashion has always been a something else, but DS9 took it to another level.

That is my big problem with Voyager. For much of the show, any of the fears of running out of resources are glossed over. Photon torpedoes? Limitless resource. Shuttles? I think they end the show with more than they should have started with. And when ratings weren't what they hoped, rather than continue developing new stuff, a lot of it became TNG's greatest hits. More Borg, more Q. Not to say I hate it, or it doesn't have its moments though.

And the Battlestar Galactica remake sure went off the rails by the end, huh? But it starts out so strong.

I've talked about my love of Swear Trek, but perhaps its greatest creation is Boston Neelix

Tuvix had it coming.

Boston Neelix!

Nog's progression as a character was one of my favourite parts of DS9. RIP Aron Eisenberg!

Mostly a thing on TNG and Voyager. DS9 knew about the sex possibilities at least

I'm really curious about the connection here. It can't be random chance!

I can hear this in my head

Enterprise had a rough start, to put it kindly, but I did like Bakula as Captain Archer. But they put T'Pol through such shitty storylines.

Ah, the Enterprise theme song. The opening credits are actually kind of moving, but that song...

Shran was an Enterprise highlight to me

Oh, Enterprise's decontamination scenes. That was such a thirsty show

Love this. But Enterprise, which managed to turn into a solid show in its back half, really got screwed over with that series finale.

We come to the end with the traditional Vulcan farewell! If you'd care to read more, check out the TOS/TAS edition: https://imgur.com/gallery/ZFJ7hVB

It highly likely there was a Millenium Falcon in that scene #7

You're probably right

#7 tough little ship

"I just wish we could get a proper HD remaster." They would have to redo all the editing, since that was done on video tape.

I know. They did it for TNG, but decided it was cost prohibitive to do for DS9 or VOY.

I figured you would know, but maybe not everyone reading this post does. :)

Yes. My hope is that, as AI upscaling improves, it could become feasible. There are some impressive samples on the internet

My wife is currently watching DS9 for the first time, so exciting. Im saving some of these to show her when she can understand them. Thanks!

I hope she's enjoying it. DS9 starts out slowly, but has such rewards as it progresses.

I can tell she's really into it because she started secretly watching episodes without me

Very nice

I wouldn't say that Jadzia is trans. Her and Ezrj are women but they have the memories of past lives via the symbiont.

Jadzia is a fictional character. But her character is easily seen as a metaphor for transitioning. That's not the only reading of course,

But that's the fun of metaphors
