Thanks. I'm unreasonably excited about this

+1 for science!

But does Tetris exist with the quantum theory thats what we really need to know!

Mmm heating of black bodies. I remember that from badgering my teachers when I was 13.

This channel (King Crocoduck) also debunks a shitload of pseudoscience and creationist claims, and debated Kent Hovind. Good stuff all round

Awesome stuff!

I thought this was some kind of pink floyd reference at first.

Commenting for remembrance

Do you guys just put the word quantum in front of everything?

Thank you. :)

That one downvote.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pshh! I know exactly what all this means.

Now's your chance to peruse the video and learn what it means.

Me too, you ain't special.

Extra Credits had a series on Quantum Computing, also fascinating: https://youtu.be/iol5936dZho

Thanx!

I wanted to reply that blackbody radiation isn't quantum mechanics based, but then of course this is Planck's law and the foundation of QM.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yup, Planck came up with it in an attempt to explain why the black body spectrum be like it is. 1/2

More favorites than upvotes. I think 3 ppl will actually watch this. (For reference I favorited this too)

My Aboriginal Elder told me I should stay away from "such things" when he saw me reading a book on Quantum Mechanics. Actually hurt my 1\2

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2\2 feelings at the time bc I looked up to him.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you guys heard of Quantum Leap‽

7 years ago | Likes 105 Dislikes 3

Always upvote interrobang.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

AL?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

An interrobang?!

7 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Always!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or I mean, Always‽

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only heard of improbability drive.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s most unlikely.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s...... improbable!!

Oh boy

Don't ever, EVER associate that show with QM. It's a disgrace the way they use "quantum". It takes me forever to explain that's not right.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

But they talk about string theory!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Who the fuck you arguing with, Mormons?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That show made a quantum leap in peoples understanding of quantum mechanics. ;)

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

One small step for man, one quantum leap for mankind. Let’s stop and ponder all of the levels of wrong. That could take, like, infinity.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ugh...the pun is hideous! But it is a pun, so it evens out.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Good to see a discussion of QM start with black body radiation instead of entanglement or superposition

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But if you have any good sources for those, i'd be interested. (as long as it doesn't require math. I suck at math)

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1) You don't suck at math, you're un-practiced. Everyone who says they suck at math had a bad experience/teacher. You can do it! /1

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2) I'm 2nd year Physics/Math and I haven't the math yet to approach QM. To really understand QM you need math, soz /2

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3) Rather than the fancy stuff take a look at Bohr's atomic model of hydrogen and the double split experiment, they're approachable /3

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4) Cool easy stuff: Light has momentum, light and particles exchange momentum, which obeys Law of Conservation of Momentum (Super Important)
