My mischief

Little Jasper! This picture is a few weeks old, he's filled out a bunch since then! He's a super sweet little guy, a bit shy but not scared. His coat is super soft and pretty, he's what's known as an agouti silvermane dumbo variety.

When I brought him and his brothers home (Onyx is the one in the bottom corner).

He's got such a mousey little face!

He's the calmest of the boys, which is why I have more pictures of him than his brothers.

This guy is Slate! He's a fucking terror purely because of how he often sleeps: middle of the cage floor, doesn't respond to calling him, tapping the bars, opening the cage, hell he won't even wake up if I reach in and let him, not until I have fully grabbed his stupid ass and pulled him out. Slate is an American blue silvermane top ear (also called standard ear sometimes).

He's otherwise *never* still, so I don't have too many pictures of him awake.

Fat lady Zelda! She's about a year and a half old now. As you can see, she has a small mammary tumor growing in the crook of her rear leg. It is so far staying somewhat small, and due to her age (rats often don't handle anesthesia well, and age makes it harder. Plus at her age having to recover alone for a month or two will be stressful) + funds (I have a good vet fund for them, but tumors in rats usually just come back anyway + lack of space for an appropriate hospital cage, we have chosen to simply keep an eye on the tumor until it's big enough to stsrt impacting her wuality of life. And then spoiling her rotten with every treat she could want until we have her peacefully put to rest.

She's a beige velveteen top ear. She's always been the "big cheese" (ha) with her sisters (one of whom we have sadly already lost to a uterine tumour), and I'm curious to see how she'll behave with the boys (who are castrated) when I integrate the two groups.

Navi! She's such a sweet heat. The same age as Zelda, but so far other than a minor mite flare-up that was treated easily she hasn't had any health issues. She is a masked black silvermane dumbo (and she really puts the "dumb" in dumbo too lol)

Onyx and Jasper

This scruffy little guy is Onyx! (If you haven't caught on yet, the theme for my boys' names is "rocks/minerals). He's a calmer boy than his brothers, and likes to give kisses! How scruffy appearance is due to his coat variety, called Rex! His coat colour is all black except for little white feet and a small white dot on his belly. He's got dumbo ears like Jasper!
