Sunken Ship Terrain for RPG

Multi-level terrain for a sunken shipwreck. 3-D printed corals/rocks, aquarium plants, and craft store preserved lichens.

Deck bases made from cardboard overlaid with popsicle stick planks (rounded ends were cut off). Coated with modpodge and a few layers of acrylic paints.

The base is a 2'x2'x1" foam insulation square, debossed with a wooden spoon to emulate ripples in the seafloor. Coated with a mixture of sand, modpodge, and acrylic paint. 3D printed rocks were painted with Speedpaint by Army Painter.

Mast is a single ½" oak dowel screwed into an outlet junction box plate under the lowest deck level. ½" holes were drilled in each deck, and small holes drilled into the mast under each deck. The decks sit on a large washer, which rests upon a cotter pin inserted into the mast.

The spars are lashed to the mast with a small diameter twine. Decaying sails were cut from "creepy cloth" and dyed with coffee. They are simply draped across the spars.

The poop deck is removable, and sits on the main deck. Similar construction techniques were used (cardboard, popsicle sticks). Balsa wood feet are hot glued to the base, and are intentionally cut with odd angles to give a wonky look.

The whole kit can be disassembled/reassembled in a few minutes. Time to engage the players!
