I was in the process of completely rebuilding it. It had sat in a garage in dry storage for over a decade before I got it.

Only 4 were my cars, two of which crashed due to mechanical failure (one was a blown tire and the other was a snapped tie rod.) The other two were identical acuras that I shit you not were both hit by drivers not paying attention while pulling out of their driveway. The deja vu was palpable. Gotta love Denver.

Your username fits perfectly. It was a '92 XJ that I was in the process of rebuilding after it spent over a decade in a garage with the engine sitting in a crate and completely drained for "dry storage".

Frightening how easy something like that can happen. Was the speeding necessary to get up the hill or was it part of the reason your car started to slide? And are you driving slower now?

Uh well. The town I was in had just burnt down so some friends and I were heading to the next town over to get something to eat so I was speeding trying to catch up with them. I was being dumb. Yes it definitely helped with the slide and I haven't driven since.
