I'm prepared for the downvotes but for Debbie it's worth it. Its sad to see so many tributes to Carrie while Debbie is left out.
I'll admit I didn't know much about her until a few years ago, but then I saw Wishful Drinking, and you couldn't hear Carrie talk about her mother without loving this woman.
She was a survivor, because as she herself put it what other choice do you have? Not surviving?
She danced her ass off while pregnant with Carrie and when her husband left her for Elizabeth Taylor she didn't let it stop her. Seems she never gave up her positive attitude. Even after 2 husbands in a row, after Eddie Fisher, left her dead broke. She kept to the stage and the big screen doing what she loved, bringing her kids along.
My heart goes out to Todd losing his sister and mother so close together. People are saying she died of a broken heart and I hope she is happy to be back with her daughter, hopefully dancing side by side once more.
This strange world will miss you Debbie.
