You can see another uptick starting in 2021 because of Covid and the morons who decided they didn't want the 5G injected into their bodies.
.
Not sure why they were complaining, my phone reception has been superlative since I got the Moderna vax. /s

I'm not saying getting paid to take off your clothes makes you stupid; I AM saying it doesn't make you qualified to talk about vaccines unless you also have a degree in epidemiology or immunology or bio-chemistry.
MikeRInternetTraveler
Jenny McCarthy should be in prison for the anti-vaccine shit she popularized. It didn’t start with her, but that cunt gave it a mainstream platform. Every kid that died of a vaccine-preventable disease since then has their blood on her hands.
3Davideo
I would love to see this dataset extended backwards so we could see the impacts of, say, the polio and measles vaccines.
Lisossoma
All,of the others are true, but tuberculosis achine is pretty ineffective unfortunately. It MAY protect against more severe tuberculosis form like meningeal tuberculosis, though.
taez555
She had a fun brief acting career though in the late 90's. That MTV show. Her role in Baseketball. She was actually pretty good. It's a shame she went full Dennis Miller.
IGotMyDreamJobProgrammingGames
Anti-vaxers don't deserve to be a part of civilized society. Stupid fucking scum.
Clockworkdancerobot
Shame it stopped being updated. https://www.jennymccarthybodycount.com/

The uptick looks mostly to be in cervical cancer rates, from after that vaccine was introduced. I don't think this graph was well-designed.
ViolentlyJaded
If people listened, that's troubling. But we are in a very stupid timeline.
ahb1020306
You're exactly saying that taking your clothes off makes you stupid or you would not have mentioned that she was a playboy model. Liberals need to drop this classicism and stop assuming that all this is just the result of stupidity on the other side.
IGotMyDreamJobProgrammingGames
No. We're saying a playboy model with no medical training shouldnt be taken seriously when giving medical advice, you stupid fucking shill.
MadamPuddifoot
Her being a playboy model is important, coz she was on the zeitgeist BC OF IT
rshini
Oprah has a LOT to answer for she inflicted this bitch, Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz on the public and gave them undeserved credibility.
Hoogemast
I think that is also what is steamrolling the current problems even further. People who are not right in their mind are given a big platform, whether it be online or on TV, just because it better for the views. Make a show about Nazis, they will search the world for one person who is pro Nazis and then invite that one as well as someone against them. Give them the same platform and sometimes even give the nazi more room to speak. All for good TV. This attracts other unstable people and so on...
TheCunningLinguists
Charlatans and snake oil, the lot of them.
Spidey209
Lol. Bubonic Plague is still a thing people.
dnebdal
IIRC we don't have a good vaccine for that, though?
Spidey209
When was the last time you remember someone getting a vaccine for Bubonic Plague? It is bacterial so simple antibiotics work, but you have to believe in Doctors and science which is why it mainly kills people in the red states.
dnebdal
Looking at it: It's one of the old vaccines, but it's also rarely used and not super well tested; only recommended if you work with plague in a lab. And antibiotics apparently take you from ca 70% down to 10% chance of death, so you'll get some deaths even with treatment. (Also the rodent vectors in the US skew towards rural western states, so there's a bias in who is infected)
SomeDetroitGuy
Cervical cancer is going to take a long time before it has effects because cervical cancer shows up about 40-50 years after infection of HPV and you need the vaccine before you get exposed so it has to be administered at around 12 or so. The vaccine was introduced in 2006 so we won't see lives saved until around 2040 or later.
LeoFloof
I was infected with HPV and it progressed in under a year.
Luckily, at the time, insurance still let you get a PAP smear once a year. My doctors let me know that had I waited ONE more month for my PAP, it would have developed into cancer.
Luckily, it was caught right before, the cells removed, and I was monitored for three years.
Some HPV strains are incredibly aggressive. Please don’t spread misinformation, it could cost lives.
Leithreas
For anyone who may want to, you can get the vaccine later on too. There are multiple strains of HPV so it doesn't hurt to get it whenever. I tried to get it when it first came out but wasn't allowed as I was a man and they were saving them, but I got it a few years later in my 30s.
astrangehop
They reccomend even up to 45. I'd do it, if I had health insurance.
nation543
I've known a few women who were diagnosed with cervical cancer within a few years of contracting HPV, not 40-50. One of them was diagnosed in her mid-20's, after her son was born.
FormerlySable
A friend’s daughter died from HPV-caused cervical cancer when she was 26. This was years before a vaccine existed, but it probably would have saved her.
anononanonanona
This is wrong. The vaccine is already saving thousands of lives.
dockermike
Absolutely correct. Scotland recently had no cervical cancer cases in women under 30 who had the HPV vaccine. Ireland has seen a drop from 400 cases a year to 280 in the last 15 years, due to screening, not even counting further recent drops in pre cancer cases, due to the vaccine. National screening programs work well, helped by the vaccine.
jimmythehat1
Correct. There are several countries on track to eradicating HPV related cervical cancer by 2039.
TsubakiTragic
Abso-fucking-lootly. I believe Scotland and Australia are (at least) 2 countries where there has not been a case of cervical cancer in women who have been inoculated. The vaccine was simple, the results are staggering; science rules. Folks, if you have daughters get them vaccinated b4 they become sexually active.
anononanonanona
Everyone should get it if they are allowed to. HPV isn't just about cervical cancer, it's also throat cancer and less serious but still pretty awful afflictions.
Grurim
Aren't their cases much earlier than that, or its for sure that long? I thought I'd heard about some women getting it in their 20s/30s, which would mean we could have already started to have lives saved by the HPV vaccine potentially.
anononanonanona
You are correct, no idea where the OP is getting their wrong data. I personally know two people who had to be treated for aggressive cervical cancer in their twenties. Luckily they survived. It does not take 40-50 years.
TheImmunerd
You're absolutely right, as somebody already commented. Australia requires the HPV vaccine and has essentially eliminated cervical cancer. Fun fact, it's one of the only therapeutic vaccines (not purely prophylactic) so you could use it if you already have cervical cancer.
Slimewire
Yes! The data shows it can prevent HPV infection from becoming cancerous.
Totallyscrewedinaustin
Well that's good to know!!
hiiamluciole
the thing is, (all) men should also take it A- for themselves, because this virus also gives cancer in the mouth and B- because they are vectors for women.
thinkybrainpains
So you’re telling me US civilization peaked in what? 2002? 2003?
Howboutdempackers
Nah its called presenting your data in a skewed view to better fit your narrative. Im not saying im knowledgable in vaccines. But i am saying that vaccine deaths should be listed as a per capita and not cumulative total as that completely disregards population growth, which is significant in this application.

2004 Deadwood was on air, so strong contender. However Bush was in office and that can’t be a part of our peak. Tv in 2012, however was pretty epic.
PinkyTheUnicorn2
Importantly, Andrew Wakefield, the abusive conman who created a fake study blaming the MMR vaccine for a made-up gut disease that caused autism, released said study in 1998. The nearly steady rise since that date is not a coincidence.

More true than most young people know. America's nose dive into jingoism and idiocy started a hard acceleration there.

Those saying 10 sep 2001 are close, but it's the dot com bubble bursting for me which is 10 march 2000. Those glorious three months between knowing y2k was nothing to be worried about and the economy shitting the bed.

No, even then the patriot act was laying the foundation for decreased civil rights which led us here. And before the patriot act it was Reagan, and before Reagan, it was Nixon, and before Nixon, well....

1990s, The Matrix called it our peak.
bot1010011010
the actual peak of western civilization was the release of the second video for A-ha's song "Take On Me" in 1985 or '86

The matrix was actually filmed 1998 and filming lasted 6 months. In the movie the matrix is set as 1999 bc that was the peak of human civilization. If you actually think back, it really kinda was. After that, the housing market quadrupled, homelessness jumped by 34% since then. The countries debt 32.6 trillion. In 1999 it was 5,656 Billion. Understand that maths a second. 5.6 Billion to 32.6 TRILLION.
1 trillion is 1 million billions. That number is astronomical. Beyond disgusting.

Something like that. Dude idk. It was my first time mathing with billions. But thank you for the correction.
It's still a fuckton of money that he'd never notice
