That's actually not true. Even looking for certain types of characters in google image search, with the -AI, it will still show AI-generated images as long as the website doesn't have AI in the name, and sometimes even if it does.

"your" means "belongs to you" if you mean "you are", you can do what's called a "contraction" in which you use an apostrophe to replace one or more letters, "contracting" the two words into one: "you( a)re" -> "you're"

That would require that everything ai is tagged which it isn't. But you can use "before:yyyy-mm-dd" to exclude anything posted after that date, chatgpt launched in 2022 btw, also only real way to exclude ai images from your search

This seems like bullshit; it will just hide results matching the word. This is also what I found on other sites that promoted this (https://9to5google.com/2026/05/23/google-ai-overviews-turn-off-modifier/ about a month ago). Sadly commenters are still very confused even when confirming it doesn't work.

I had a browser extension remove any links that were autotranslated (like steam or reddit). Had to turn it off because google made me do a captcha too often because it saw me using an uncommon search option.

I hear somewhere that cursing will remove the AI so I set up Firefox to always add "-arse" to my search terms. It looks like it works, but I do suspect it's just hiding stuff and still sending it off on it's AI journey.

Google is on the record admitting (or having it whistleblown I forget?) that they deliberately made search worse so you have to search at least twice. The most obvious time I've seen this, I searched "cast of The Celebrity Traitors" and it gave me the cast of the upcoming unreleased season. So I searched "cast of The Celebrity Traitors season one" and it gave me a bullet-point list and NONE of the names were hyperlinks to the specific people. What I wanted was a bio of one of them. 4 searches.

I've been using the custom default search engine "trick" to default to the Web tab in the search results in order to not see the AI overview shit to begin with, so I had to specifically test this. I'd just taken it at face value before :)
