For those times when you happen to have all the items just lying about your house.

I've never seen this at IKEA.

I'm Canadian and vouch for the fact that yes, this could cook a moose. We use these to heat our igloos all the time, as well.

Its not about roughing it. It's a neat idea for an out door get together like a bbq or other form of cookout. Akin to pigs and fire pits.

So many attempts at this and i have never done it successfully.

Giant mega skillet is giant

well yes if you have a chainsaw handy.

The chainsaw makes this.

That's enough heat energy to cook a moose. Well, a turkey, at least.

13 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No its not. You save more potential energy this way then splitting the wood and using a firepit.

Point was, that's a lot more than needed to cook that one skillet. Not saying it would not work. Just overkill.

That's cool and all but super impractical. And if I have a chain saw handy why do I need to rough it like this?

IDK my BFF the axe/wedge?

Mabye you dont have a fireplace or more wood? idk

Because you're on a deserted island and the only things you have are a chainsaw, newspaper, food & a wok! Obviously

There is a simplified version where you simply split a log, then prop the pieces up. Still, it is easier to carry a saw than a stove.
