The Path is Closed. [OC]

Check out this amazing path to St Michael's Mount. The monastery is only accessible at low tide as the only path in disappears into the waves.

An Oxford comma could be used in the description, but oh well, I'm learned so I can figure it out.

Aphex Twin loved that mount: https://youtu.be/wlr8duyToKo

You just need to find the switch to lower the water level and your path to the boss will be revealed.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yea, but once inside the castle, you still can't open all the doors without backtracking to the previous map 5 times.

9 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 0

What of they swim there underwater? They don't need to come up for air because of all the coins that have fallen in there.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Kids will never know the struggle of OOT water temple without a guide

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

....It's not that hard.. If 6-8 Year old me can beat it before internet was a thing then anyone else can.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'll bet that road is slippery as heck.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

does any one wonder if this castle is like a mimicry of mont saint michael, or mont saint michael is a copy of st micheals mount?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The French one was first, this one was first set up by French in the 12th century

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are many such castles and monasteries. I've seen one off the southern coast of Turkey and a few around Europe.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, St Michael's Mount was given to the Abbot of Mount Saint-Michel, so I imagine the French one came first.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also, created an account just to comment on this. Why do I do these things?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The real spirited away?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So how deep does it get? Couldn't you just get some wet feet and walk out there?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

https://www.stmichaelsmount.co.uk/ Also, Google maps has a ton of ground level shots all along the walkway, showing the tide line heights.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Marazion and her family comes from a long line of boatmen for Lord St Levan ( does that count?)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure Pokemon has one of these. They used it to get to one of the gyms

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're thinking of Shoal Cave in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. It doesn't lead to a gym but it does have the TM for Ice Beam IIRC.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was always high tide for me :(

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure Daniel Radcliffe would tell you not to cross that path.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The way is SHUT!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fun fact: France has this same kind of thing and it's called Mont Saint Michel.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Holy shit, I thought that's what this was until I read your comment.

And if you combine them you have the name of one of the greatest electronic music tracks ever by Aphex Twin. https://youtu.be/2FMccwa-0vA

And being from before the French revolution, it is a palace of shear opulence too.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mont Saint Michel is the end of the Camino, iirc.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

It's not, like at all. It can be one of the several starts (not the most famous though). But the end is Santiago-de-Compostela in spain

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

See, that's the iirc part. Which I didn't. :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats the original one. Cornish one is brother one. I been to both, but French one wins. Its absolutely amazing.

What is the elvish word for "friend"?

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Cunt.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I believe that may be the Aussie word for friend. Really more like dwarves than elves. With all the drinking and cursing and so on.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

"I do not fear death."

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Been there, it's wonderful but there is zero reason to digitally enhance the view as much as it has been here.

9 years ago | Likes 253 Dislikes 20

Lived a bit further up the coastline. This was my bedroom view as a teenager.. well, not at sea level

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Here's another high-res one:

@ListenHereFucko

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I think the enhancement looks cool compared to the unedited. Looks like OP just upped contrast on the road. It's not like they added Yeti.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

it may be more that @OP just had a longer shutter speed which has blurred the water over the walkway as opposed to digitally enhanced

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sometimes sky is that blue. Especially if you use polarizing filter.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey, Thanks for the comment - yeah with this set of images I took a lot of the vibrancy out of the original RAWs. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

it doesn't look overprocessed, in fact, I can imagine the real scene looking quite similar to the representation. beautiful shot.

I like your edits. You didn't ruin anything. Don't get why everyone thinks they can do better.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Personally I'd say this is the best of the three but I can respect the reason for the edit. Nice work!
