"Family, you say..."

Better start running when you hear about “being a family”.

Instead of a raise, I'll give you a pizza party.

This. "Employees don't want to work anymore and have no loyalty"

This

This... reads like the company is a boomer that didn't really take care of their childre... oh, oh shit, I said it, almost said it, didnt I?

* And you have to give me two weeks notice if you want to quit *

You’re always family until layoff time comes around

THIS! Everytime someone says something similar to the blue dino this is what I think. "You fucks seem to be missing the fundamental problem"

Any boss who says "We're a family" clearly doesn't know many families. What family would be complete without at least one member nobody can

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

stand? Or people not talking to each other ever again over a stupid argument?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or the rich one that doesn’t understand why the rest of the family isn’t.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So yeah, anyone who thinks "We're a family" is supposed to be a good thing doesn't know many families.

I mean... Yeah, in Denmark that's how it works. Can be fired for almost any reason, can quit for any reason.

What is inaccurate about the message? We have to give 2 weeks notice, but they can fire us with no notice... seems like no consideration

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm all ears to hear your very well cited research

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also I’ll sue you if you get a job with a competitor or client because we forced you to sign a noncompete agreement.

And should you create anything of value - that is ours then.

??? what bullshit is the America? Once you quit the contract, the contract no longer applies

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, not how it works here when, in order to enter employment, you have to sign another contract that extends past your employment. Yes BS

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They don't even have to sue *you*. They can sue the other company, then you get no say in the matter.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Either way, they use those to try and scare you out of leaving. And they can do both, depending on wording of the agreement.

I worked for a corp with a no compete agreement. My state doesn’t allow those…laughed my whole way to the competitions office.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You shoulda filed a complaint, too. Some of your coworkers wouldn’t know that

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Complaining won’t change a multinational corps rules. Emailing the state statute to all my coworkers before I left did though.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can quit without notice, but you'll be seen as leaving on bad terms and we can't rehire you for another 3.5 years

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where are you? Not sure if it varies for jobs but in Texas I've seen rehires as short as 6-months (if they even rehire you)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was an exaggerated joke

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Promise? If I’ve left, I’m gone….for good. I’ve already done the calculation-I hate my job more than I hate finding a new one.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's my problem. I really, really hate job hunting.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's reasons for that

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s a motherfucker for sure but not enough to keep me at a shitty job.
