Maker Faire Berlin
English:
Seven meters high, six meters long, two tons heavy: the "Mechanical Paard" with its gigantic dimensions is an impressive sight. In just three months, the circle of friends Schenkel around the maker Jos Bosmans has built the horse made of iron. The necessary inspiration for the movement mechanism was provided by the kinetic sculptures of the artist Theo Jansen. All parts are connected so that they are driven by a single hydraulic movement. Based on the Jansen mechanism, the legs can be moved, even the head can lower or raise to a height of up to seven meters. So far, only the people in the Netherlands have been enthusiastic about the giant ox, which also snorts and neighs. Now it comes to Germany for the first time and amazes big and small visitors at the Maker Faire Berlin.
