#15 "You can only pick one. Choose wisely."

This actually seems pretty clear to me. "You can only pick one" does not state that the correct answer is "one", nor is it a directive. "Choose wisely", however, is a directive.

#30 Some seeds, like some people, just have an advantage from birth. I've been growing mimosa seedlings, and all my plants get the same soil, same fertilizer, same water... but some go through explosive growth, and some are "oh, I'm just going to be a little dwarf tree, don't mind me, 2cm high and producing miniature adult fronds". Fuck you, grow harder.

#24 Egypt-Egypt would also have a great matchup since Egypt has all the animals shown in ancient Egyptian gods except for maybe baboons, hippos and the now extinct Egyptian lion...

#2 This is NOT restricted to ads by any means. I have an ad block on any device I touch and STILL buttons jump all over the damn place! Devs - please - use - your - own - apps :D

1 week ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

While the content of the ad div would be blocked, they are using asynchronous javascript to create the div and attempting to load the content. So it's jumping around because they are attempting to show you the ad.

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Oh! I thought this was much more nefarious. It's my adblocker causing the jumpies? I'm ok with that.

#28 The "it" refers to different things in each phrase. For "Turn it up", the "it" refers to the AC (the machine); as in, make the machine produce more. For "turn it down", the "it" refers to the temperature; as in, make the temperature lower.

Thus, these phrases are not opposites saying the same thing. They are two different ways to reach the same goal.

1 week ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 4

I think we all know that?? It's just that different people select the different phrases and may misunderstand without hearing explicit context if THEY would use the other phrase.

1 week ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Who said the answers were opposites saying the same thing?

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

What do you say when you want the machine to produce less?

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And what if it's winter and you use it for heating?

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"These damn kids keep messing with the A/C"

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Turn down the temp to make it colder, turn up the fan to make it colder
Turn up the temp to keep it warmer, turn down the fan to keep it warmer.
For window units I feel its a lot easier to see what we mean because you aren't inputting settings in a thermostat. You're literally controlling everything from the unit itself.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then you're turning it down - the up/down is impacting the "it", either temperature or the machine, and they go in opposite directions. So if "it" is the machine and you want less, you turn it down (by turning up the temperature)
