During the filming of "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" in late 1988, actor DeForest Kelley drops by the "Next Generation" sets. #StarTrek

Damn it, Patrick. I'm a movie sequel, not a TV sequel.

I thought that one guy did a great homage to his character. Can’t think of his name right now. You know from The Boys.

Didn't they use some of the TNG sets for the film?

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Yep, and Star Trek 6. Lots of hallway shots and the transporter room. =)

TNG used sets originally used in ST:TMP, and Start Trek VI used some TNG sets while the show was on summer hiatus.

DeForest was 68 and Patrick was 48

Patrick has already stopped aging in that picture

Once you hit max level, you stop leveling.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow, Patrick was definitely from the next generation

You may be cool but...

Looks likes someone needs to de-forest Kelly…. I’ll show myself out.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, his Bee Gees phase.

He's checking to see if his enormous dick is still wrapped out around his waist and running down his leg.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

His disco Unabomber look was an...interesting style choice.

It was the 70s, the 2270s

"Bones" is not who he is; it's what he does.

They drafted me!

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

They didn't.

"Wait... am I a Borg?"

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My personal belief is that the transporter makes a copy of you and the previous version is destroyed. Every time.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep, that's what happens. Of course, your consciousness is also ended and rebooted every time you fall asleep.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Consciousness is a side effect of the meat configuration. So if the meat gets reassembled the same way, the same consciousness continues on uninterrupted.

He looks like he was interrupted half way through his 2 year fucking tour.

*5 year mission

Bones was also in the pilot episode of TNG

He was good in Night of the Lepus.

"Bones" always confuses me. In german his nickname was "Pille" (which refers to medication pills). It's a nicknames of someone who treats ppl so they will live. "Bones" .. not so much.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A sawbones is semi old timey slang term for a surgeon. I've always assumed it came from that.

"Treat her like a lady and she'll always bring you home."

The reference to that line in the last episode of Picard was absolutely perfect.

And she did

3 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

And it was glorious!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Except that one time.

3 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Yes, the Enterprise D never went back to Earth. *cough*

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

None of the main characters died and they saved they day. Seems to have worked out to me

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

That planet wasn't their home.

And was super racist! "You have green blood boy?" or something to that effect.

"I don't see no points on your ears, boy, but you sound like a vulcan." "No, sir, I am an android." "hmph. Almost as bad."

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

My favourite line from Bones about Spock: "God, I liked him better before he died!"

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How Bones talked to Spock was probably the cause of many workplace sensitivity training sessions

3 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Kinda the point.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

"Doctor, we've gone over this. Just because Vulcans don't act on their emotions doesn't mean they don't have them. You have to choose your words!"

3 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

"Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor, not a woke lib!"

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

"Dammit counseller, I'm a doctor not wordsmith"

3 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a human resources director!

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Y'know, Bones vs Spock never bothered me because Spock could give as good as he got with McCoy. It seemed apparent that was just how they talked to each other. And Bones would always take care of him. Doctor Pulwoski in TNG with Data though? That always skeeved me out because she clearly didn't see him as sentient.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but she changed her mind pretty quick. I always liked that even after Maddox did the same and essentially tried to force Data to risk his life Data ended up good friends and colleagues with him.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At least when she was introduced, no, but I do feel she grew in that regard over the season she was in

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, it was a pretty good arc her character had. By the end of the season, she got to know Data really well, and highly respected him. The penultimate season 2 finale, Peak Performance, really shows how strong their relationship had become. I like Crusher, but I wouldn't have minded keeping Pulaski around longer.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I used to think that too, but I've come to respect the character arc she had in her one season on the show. Consider checking this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC4K1mx0SPQ
